15th June 2010 Are dealers responding to enquiries over the internet...you'll be surprised! AMS has undertaken a general industry-wide assessment of how well dealers respond to email enquiries. Method E-mail sent between 10:00am and 13:00pm via the manufactures web site. This was our enquiry…….. “Looking at your web site, I see you have a used (model) in stock. Can you tell me if this is still available for sale and can I arrange a test drive for Saturday” Results
What happened when we requested a new car test drive from the same manufacturer’s site: We registered with the brand for a test drive. We received an immediate response thanking us for registration. This informed us that a member of the brand’s team would be in touch very soon. We are still waiting to hear from a sales person. Conclusion The network is split between excellent (some responses were of a truly high quality) and very poor. Too often opportunities to do business are being missed and cars are not being sold! What can AMS do for you? Ignoring e-mails is just as bad as ignoring showroom customers. Many dealers have not yet fully embraced e-mail and far too many dealers are missing sales opportunities. 1. AMS will carry out an email enquiry handling test across entire dealer networks. Whether this is for dealer groups or manufacturers the cost is very low. 2. If the results reflect similar findings we have a process improvement program that can be offered to dealers that are missing sales opportunities. This is not classroom training, it’s an in dealer review completed by AMS in about 2-hours. Again, it’s low cost and includes a follow up e-mail test shop. The outcome Our initiative will address this weakness head on. We know we can improve the network’s ability to handle e-mail prospects. In these challenging times where budgets count, the follow up e-mail test will measure the success of this initiative and prove the investment worthwhile. Contact us and we’ll let you know how together we can make sure it isn’t your network. Click here to go back. |
